One More Cup Before the Road.

In 1976, Bob Dylan released the album Desire, a record filled with restless characters and long American roads. Among its most haunting songs is One More Cup of Coffee, a quiet farewell set somewhere between departure and memory. The song lingers in that familiar moment before leaving town, when the world is still half-dark and the coffee is strong enough to steady your thoughts. Dylan sings about taking “one more cup of coffee before I go,” the small ritual that gives a traveler just enough time to look around once more before the journey resumes.

If that scene were set on a New York sidewalk instead of a distant desert road, the cup in hand would almost certainly be the iconic Anthora paper cup. Blue, white, and unmistakably Greek in its pattern, it has warmed the hands of early risers and late-night wanderers for decades. Sometimes the road calls, sometimes the morning demands courage, but either way, there’s comfort in that last pause before moving on. One more song on the radio, one more look at the street, and perhaps – like Dylan – one more Anthora cup of coffee before you go

Dedicated to preserving the legacy of the iconic Anthora coffee cup – a true symbol of New York City’s street culture, corner delis, and daily rituals – NY Coffee Cup celebrates its enduring design, cultural significance, and place in coffee history, both in NYC and beyond.
