Drink Coffee, Live Longer.

A long-term study tracking more than 47,000 female nurses since the 1970s found a remarkable connection between coffee and healthy aging. Participants regularly reported their dietary habits – including coffee, tea, and cola consumption, and by 2016, just over 3,700 women met the criteria for “healthy aging”: over 70, free of major chronic diseases, and in good physical and mental health. Researchers discovered that women who drank one to three cups of coffee a day were about 15 percent less likely to die over the next decade compared to non-drinkers.

However, the benefits vanished for those who added excessive sugar or cream, more than half a teaspoon of sugar or a tablespoon of half-and-half per cup. Consistent research continues to link moderate coffee consumption to lower risks of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s, liver disease, and even some cancers. The takeaway? Your daily Anthora cup of coffee may do more than boost your energy – it could help you live longer, as long as you keep the sweetness and cream to a minimum.

Dedicated to preserving the legacy of the iconic Anthora coffee cup – a true symbol of New York City’s street culture, corner delis, and daily rituals – NY Coffee Cup celebrates its enduring design, cultural significance, and place in coffee history, both in NYC and beyond.
