How to Make the Best Cold Brew Coffee.

Cold brew coffee is all about patience, simplicity, and great ingredients.  To make a perfect batch, start with coarsely ground, high-quality coffee –  think the texture of breadcrumbs, not powder. Combine one cup of coffee grounds with four cups of cold or room-temperature filtered water in a French press.  Stir gently to make sure all the grounds are saturated, then let the mixture steep for 12 to 18 hours. Longer steeping creates a richer, bolder brew, while a shorter steep produces a lighter, crisper flavor.  Once the time is up, strain the coffee twice: first through a fine mesh sieve, then again through a coffee filter or cheesecloth to catch the finer particles.

The result is a smooth, mellow concentrate you can keep in the fridge for up to a week.  To serve, pour the cold brew over ice and dilute it to taste with water, milk, or a splash of simple syrup.  For a little extra flair, garnish with a citrus twist or a cinnamon stick. Whether you prefer a dark roast for chocolatey notes or a light roast for a brighter profile, taking your time with cold brew always pays off in flavor.  It’s an effortless way to enjoy coffee that’s refreshing, customizable, and easy to make ahead.
