How to Reuse Your Paper Coffee Cup #2

Americans use an estimated 50 billion paper cups every year, and by any estimate, nearly every cup is tossed away after a single use without so much as a thought to extending its life.  Driven by a growing understanding of environmental issues, we have become increasingly aware of the importance of recycling and reuse.  And while recycling has been a key focus, more Americans are realizing that reuse is an even better way to reduce waste.

That’s why we’re on a mission to rethink the way our genuine Anthora paper coffee cups are used.  Instead of being a one-and-done product, we encourage finding creative ways to extend their life. Whether it’s refilling, repurposing, or reimagining their use, we believe a great cup deserves more than just one pour.  Join us in reducing waste – one cup at a time.

Your used paper cup is perfect to cut out biscuit dough, a simple and effective way to give the cup a second life before disposal.  First, rinse and dry it thoroughly.  Turn the cup upside down so the rim is facing down. The rim of the cup will act as the cutting edge.  Firmly press the rim of the cup into your rolled-out biscuit dough.  Twist slightly as you press down to ensure a clean cut.  Lift the cup to reveal a perfectly round biscuit shape. If the dough sticks, lightly dust the cup rim with flour before cutting the next one.  Once all the biscuits are cut, place them on a baking sheet and follow your recipe’s instructions.  Repurposing a cup this way is one small but meaningful step toward sustainability.
